Project summary: CobotsVETMed: Driving Industry 4.0 in North Africa CobotsVETMed provides students in Tunisia and Algeria with a strategic advantage by equipping them with Industry 4.0 skills, allowing them to bypass outdated industrial models. By integrating collaborative robots (cobots) into vocational training, the project empowers a new generation of highly skilled workers to lead sustainable manufacturing and digital transformation in the South Mediterranean. The project directly supports workforce upskilling, addressing the urgent need for automation literacy in emerging economies. Through digital learning, industrial automation, and hands-on training, CobotsVETMed fosters youth employability, industrial innovation, and alignment with global green and digital transitions. A consortium of leaders in industrial automation, vocational training, and digital learning ensures success: ASTI, AREA, ISSIG, ENP, ICE, AMTA, and key stakeholders. Each partner brings technical expertise, training infrastructure, and industry collaboration, forming a robust implementation team.

Work Package Structure WP1: Project Management & Coordination – ICE ensures effective execution, financial oversight, and compliance. WP2: Digital Learning & MOOC Development – ICE develops an accessible online cobot training platform. WP3: Train-the-Trainer & Hands-on Learning – ASTI equips local educators with cobot expertise to sustain training programs. WP4: Curriculum Implementation – ENP collaborates with schools to adapt and deploy cobot-focused curricula. WP5: Monitoring, Evaluation & Sustainability – AREA oversees impact assessment and scalability. Even after project completion, CobotsVETMed’s impact will last. The MOOC remains freely available, educators will continue trainingfuture cohorts, and vocational institutions will integrate cobot technology—positioning North African youth as leaders in the future digital economy.
